Arthur E Bangs, died in Sharon, Conn, July 26, 1918, from peritonitis, aged 61 years. Deceased is survived by a widow, two daughters, Mrs M.G. Leach, Sherman, Conn; Mrs D.C. Ferguson, New York City; one son, Andrew G Bangs, who is with the American Expeditionary force in France; two sisters, Mrs. C.H. Roberts, Pawling; Miss Grace Bangs, Washington City; one brother, John A Bangs, New York City. His son-in-law, D.C. Ferguson, is also with the army in France, in the aviation service. John A Bangs is connected with the custom house in New York City. Arthur E Bags was born in Columbia County [sic], NY, and came to Dutchess 38 years ago. For 30 years he taught school in various localities and for a number of years owned & conducted the Dover Plains Academy, and for many years was a correspondent for the Harlem Valley Times
