He was born on May 26, 1920 in Denton, Montana to Mary Jane King and William Allen Marler. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and sisters, and his beloved wife, Irene Andersen. He is survived by his daughters, Betty Pugh and Neva Samuelson, and his son, Brent Marler. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. He spent his youth in the farming communities around Sugar City, Idaho. He served in the Navy during WWII in San Diego. He spent most of his adult years in the U.S. Border Patrol in Imperial Valley, Sacramento, and San Diego.
