SANFORD - Ruth Jowett, 92, formerly of 2 Mousam Court, a homemaker who enjoyed horse racing, died Wednesday in Trull Nursing Home, Biddeford, after a long illness.
A life long local resident until entering the nursing home, she was born April 27, 1897, the daughter of Elmer D. and Georgia Bennett, and attended local schools.
Mrs. Jowett was a homemaker all of her life.
Her husband, Reuben H. Jowett, died in 1967.
Surviving are a son, Arthur Jowett of Lebanon; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Three other sons died previously, Stanley Jowett in 1987, Lawrence Jowett in 1926 and Raymond Jowett in 1939.
