|Birth: ||Oct. 31, 1921|
|Death: ||Jul. 1, 2007|
San Mateo County
Passed July 1, 2007, at Peninsula Hospital following a sudden stroke. Age 85, born October 31, 1921, in San Antonio TX. The beloved wife of Dr. Gordon Binder of Millbrae CA for 61 years. Three children: Brooks Grant Binder of Denver, CO; Elaine (husband, Bill) Obernesser of Sac-ramento, CA; and Dr. Ross Binder of Manlius, NY. Three grandchildren: Deborah Obernesser of Washington, DC, and Michael and Grace Ann Binder of Manlius, NY. Gladys was a dedicated Christian, and she and her husband were founding members of Millbrae Bible Church for 55 years. An avid student of the Bible, Gladys had a compelling interest in world missions, corresponding knowledgably with numerous missionaries, supporting them financially and in prayer and frequently housing them on their furloughs. Always a very positive and upbeat person, she was a wonderful wife and mother and her family was her most cherished possession. She loved to travel, and with her husband traveled extensively in Europe and elsewhere overseas. A highlight was visiting the Grant Castle of her forebears the Grant Clan, in Granttown-on-Spey, Scotland. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service Friday, July 6, 2007, 11:00 AM at the Millbrae Bible Church, 20 Magnolia Avenue in Millbrae. Interment to follow at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the CHAPEL OF THE HIGHLANDS, 194 Millwood Drive at El Camino Real in Millbrae. Her family respectfully suggests donations in her memory to the Millbrae Bible Church, 20 Magnolia Ave, Millbrae, CA 94030.
