GRACE ABRAHAMS Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Grace Abrahams, a well known Winterset resident for most of her life, died sudenly Sunday, May 8, 1960, at her home here. She was 72 years of age.

Mrs. Abrahams was born Sept. 2, 1887, at Rockford, Ill., but had lived in Madison county most of her life. She was the former Grace Elizabeth Westcot, daughter of Nathan and Sylvia Holt Westcot.

She was married here Feb. 20, 1907, to William B. Abrahams. His death occurred in 1955.

She was a member of the Winterset Christian church.

In addition to her husband, a son, James Abrahams, preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Clyde Abrahams of Keokuk, George Abrahams of Winterset, and Maj. Charles Abrahams of the United States Marine Air Force, stationed in California.

She also leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mary Evans of Tolleson, Ariz., and Mrs. Laura Kobarg of Galveston, Texas; a brother George Westcot of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Daisy Calkins of Omro, Wisc.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
