Miss Elsie Pearl Kitner, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Kitner, and Luther Willis Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence P. Adams, all of Marysville R. D.. were married at the U. B. parsonage at Shermsdale (sic) on June 21 by the Rev. J. S. Stambach. The bridegroom is an employe (sic) of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company.

Elsie Pearl Adams, 89 of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Enola, passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at Messiah Village. Born December 20, 1921 in Marysville, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Margaret (Brownawell) Kitner.

Elsie was a member of Shepherdstown United Methodist Church and was a former member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Enola.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Luther W. Adams, three brothers Robert, Samuel and Archie Kitner and four sisters Annie Turner, Mabel Smee, Violet Nickel and Pauline George.

Surviving are her two daughters Bessie I. Minnich and husband Donald, Peggy L. Hinke and husband Jerry all of Mechanicsburg, 4 grandchildren Dianne McGowan, Darryl Paulus, Christine Courtney, and Leslie Carns, 8 great grandchildren Jessica Bowers, Jarred McGowan, Hannah and Ryan Carns, Cassandra, Caitlyn, Carleigh and Claudia Courtney, a step great granddaughter Katlyn Stout, a great great grandson Greyson Bowers, a sister Ruth Sipe of Carlisle, 2 sisters in law Bessie Coleman and Mary Harrold and husband Clair of Marysville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 16, 2011 at Shepherdstown United Methodist Church with viewing held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Rolling Green Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hershey Medical Center Breast Cancer Research, Office of University Development, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033 or to the Ronald McDonald House 745 West Governor Road Hershey, PA 17033.
