Hazel I. Nicholls, 80, of Route #1, Pleasant Hill, died May 13, 1979 at Cass County Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Nicholls was born De. 27, 1898 near Strasburg, Mo., to William Robert and Anna May Schindorff Warner and spent her entire lifetime in the Wingate and Plum Grove communities.

On June 22, 1921, she was married was married to Earl Nicholls at the Warner home. She is survived by her husband Earl Nicholls of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Erelen Smith of Kansas City North, and Mrs. Zoe Rene Bishop of St, Charles, Mo.; two sons, John Warner Nicholls of Pleasant Hill and; William E. Nicholls of Harrisonville; and three sisters, Mrs. Lorene Wood and Miss Lilyan G. Warner, both of Pleasant Hill and Mrs. Hattie Mae Bury of Tulsa, Ok.

Mrs. Nicholls was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pleasant Hill since 1933, United Methodist Women at Pleasant Hill, Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #53, and charter member of Plum Grove Community Extension Club.

Funeral services were conducted May 15, 1979 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stanley & Son Funeral Home with, the Rev. Howard L. Thompson officiating.

Casket bearers were Bill Callings, Eugene Davisson, Raymond Haile, J.D. Greene, Winston Gotitz, and Edmund H. Russell.

Burial at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
