Miriam J. (Ferrell) Donini, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Hillview Retirement Center. Miriam was born September 30, 1921 to the late Frank and Catherine (Thoman) Ferrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis M. Donini and a daughter, Dottie Donini; three sisters, Eva Elizabeth "Betty" Ferrell, Sr. Dorothy Ferrell, and Sr. Patricia Ferrell; and one brother, Joseph E. Ferrell. Miriam is survived by five sons, Pat of Portsmouth, Joe (Nancy) of West Portsmouth, Tom (Peggy) of Brea, CA, Jerry (BJ) of Martinsville, and Tim (Cathy) of Ft. Meyers, FL; two daughters; Kathi (Dave) Anderson of New Concord and Mimi (Tom) Clausing of Portsmouth; 14 grandchildren; Joshua Donini, Tracy Stiles, Jesse Donini, Justice Donini, Michael Anderson, Lindsay Anderson, Aaron Donini, Toni Scott, Ryan Clausing, Laura Schultz, Drew Clausing, Kristen Clausing, Jordan Donini and Bethany Donini; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Ferrell; many nieces, nephews, friends and her loving caregivers at Hillview Retirement Center and SOMC Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Portsmouth, on Saturday, November 12th, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Adam Streitenberger officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday with prayer service to follow. One of Miriam's favorite sayings was, "…any color, just so it's red." If you wish, please join us in her "Going Away Party" by wearing red! The family's favorite charity is St. Mary's Catholic Church Renovation Fund at 524 6th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.
