Byron Elmer Adcock was born January 27, 1915, in Monroe County, Iowa to Elmer Daniel and Cora Gilbert Adcock, and passed away June 7, 1986.
On June 25, 1938, Byron was united in marriage to Ida V. Labalette and to this union were born two sons, Richard Byron and Gerald Leon.
Byron became a member of the Chariton Volunteer Fire Department in 1940 and was also a member of the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.
Before retirement, Byron owned and operate a petroleum business for over 20 years, and also restaurants in Indianola and Chariton and the Flamingo Motel in Marshalltown.
Byron was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Ida, two sons, Richard and his wife Judy; and Gerald and his wife Ruth; and two grandchildren, Richard and Julie; and a sister, Mabel Gladson. Also several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m, Tuesday, June 10, 1986, at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Moody and the Rev. Eugene Sparks officiating. Bearers were Paul Show, Bud Schumann, Lester Van Zee, Dick Trelkeld, Bernard Frazier and Robert J. Clark. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
