Willard Parry, Mail Carrier
Willard A. Parry, 1434 Genesee, a local mail carrier for the past 30 years, died unexpectedly Aug. 9, 1955, in Morrisania Hospital, the Bronx.
Mr. Parry had gone to New York Sunday with the Holy Name Society to attend the baseball games when stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage and taken to the hospital. He was born in Marcy, the son of Andrew [sic John] and Emma Edgar Parry. Since early childhood he had lived in Utica. Oct. 7, 1939 he married Genevieve A. Buckley in St. John's Church. Mr. Parry was educated in local schools.
His mail route the past few years was in South Utica. Besides his wife, he leaves several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9 Friday from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro and at 9:30 from St. John's Church where a solemn requiem high Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
