Lee Schafer a servant of Jesus Christ, is alive more fully today in the presence of his Savior. Lee passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 9, 2008, at St. Alphonsus hospital in Boise, Idaho, of natural causes. (A heart attack)
Lee was born in Bemidji, Minn., April 4, 1946, to Glenn and Ada Schafer. He graduated from Hermiston High School in Oregon in 1964. In 1968 he graduated from Northwest Nazarene College, Nampa, Idaho.
Lee was a devoted family man who married the love of his life, Beth Coursey on Nov. 26, 1970. To this union two children were born, Leigh Ann and David. Some of his favorite times were times with his family.
God gave Lee a passion and a calling for radio broadcasting. At the age of 7 he built his first radio, and at 10 he earned his Amateur Radio License. One of his lifetime goals was to own a radio station. His dream came true in 1982 when he and Beth purchased KSPD. Later they bought KBXL in Boise and KDZY in McCall. He took great pleasure in being able to work with his family. His main goal was to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife Beth, Boise; his daughter Leigh Ann, McCall and son David and daughter-in law, Melissa, Boise,granddaughter Emilee. He is also survived by his parents, Glenn and Ada Schafer, Boise; his sister Jilayne, Tustin, CA; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves a host of friends.
