| Birth: | Jan. 9, 1919 | | Death: | Jun. 8, 1971 |  Canadian jurist and magistrate. A native of Montréal (Québec), he studied at the Minor Seminary of Sainte-Thérèse, at Jean-de-Brébeuf College and at the University of Montréal. He was admitted to the Bar in July 1941. After several years of private practice in Montréal, he became a Crown prosecutor and King’s Counsel in law in December 1951. He served as president of the Association of the Young Bar in 1955. He served also on the boards of the Bar of Montréal and of the Bar of the Province, in 1956-1957. Beginning in 1945, he was very active within the charitable organization of the lawyers of Montréal. He was appointed judge of the Court of the Sessions of Peace in 1958. He was cofounder, in 1962, of the Conference of the provincial judges of Québec. (bio by: Guy Gagnon)
