Irene Jenkins, age 85, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her son Larry Mooneyham, daughter Louise Blackwell, parents Ike and Jettie Ramsey, brothers Glen, George, and Bud Ramsey, and sisters Sylvia Fettes and Mamie Ramsey.
Irene is survived by her husband of 51 years James Arthur Jenkins, son Roger (Loretta) Mooneyham, Sr. of White Pine; grandchildren Christina Foster of Morristown, Roger Mooneyham and Rebecca Mooneyham, both of White Pine; Steve Blackwell of Knoxville; and Susan Williams of White Pine; and nine great-grandchildren who loved her and will miss her very much.
Funeral services for Irene will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011, at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Messer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the services.
The family will meet at Union Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2011, for a graveside service.
