| Birth: | Sep. 19, 1883 | | Death: | Jan. 1, 1931 |  Acclaimed Swedish Novelist, Poet, Dramatist and Screenwriter. Concidered one of the most important figures in the twentieth-century Swedish literature. He wrote novels as well as plays, and several of his works have become modern-day classics. His works have been translated to many languages, and are subject to research, in Sweden and abroad. Noted novels are for instance ”Hans nåds testamente” (1910), ”Markurells i Wadköping” (1919), ”Chefen fru Ingeborg” (1924) and ”Clownen Jac” (1930). Some of his noted plays are ”Swedenhielms” (1925), ”Markurells i Wadköping” (1929) ”Hans nåds testamente” (The Baron´s will, 1930). He is honoured with a museum in his hometown, Örebro.
