| Birth: | Jan. 3, 1924 | | Death: | Mar. 3, 1945 | World War II British Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. In the Second World War, he served as a Lieutenant in the Green Howards, 1st Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment. On March 3, 1945, his battalion was in an advance against Japanese forces at Meiktila, Burma. As it grew towards dusk, Weston led his men to take out a large and well protected bunker. As the men crossed the open field to the bunker, Lieutenant Weston was hit at the entrance. His men then saw him pull the pin from a grenade he was holding and roll forward into the bunker, killing himself along with the enemy. For bravery in the face of the enemy, he was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross Medal in December 1945. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)

I was at his gravesite last week and noted he and 8 of his comrades died on my birthday, March 3, 1945. What a brave group of heros. Beautiful cemetary, well maintained. With Love and Aloha, Doug Beatty, Hilo, Hawaii -
