World War II Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 7th Battalion, Green Howards. On the night of March 20-21, 1943, Lieutenant Colonel Seagrim was ordered to capture an important objective at the Mareth Line, Tunisia. When it appeared that the attack on the position would fail due to intense enemy fire, he placed himself at the head of his battalion and led them forward. He personally helped to place a scaling ladder over an anti-tank ditch and was the first across. Leading an attack on two machine-gun posts, he accounted for 20 of the enemy killed. When a counter-attack was launched the next day he moved from post to post supporting his troops until the assault was defeated. For most prestigious courage and leadership, he was awarded the Victoria Cross Medal. He died on April 6, 1943 after being severely wounded at the Battle of Wadi Akarit.
