Mr. Elliott was a Colbert County native and a member of West Side Baptist Church. He was employed with Norfolk Southern as an engineer for 31 years. He was preceded in death by many family members and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara McKinney Elliott; son, Steven Gene Elliott and wife, Michelle; daughters, Tammy R. Martin and husband, Jeff, LeeAnn Brackin and husband, Scotty, Doris Nelson Whitfield, Linda Nelson Holt and husband, Frankie; brother, R.C. Elliott; sisters, Helen Thompson, Lib Inman and Betty Inman; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Jerry Inman, Tim Inman, Randy Inman, Jeff Martin, Frankie Holt and Billy McKinney.
Honorary pallbearers are Corporal Jessie Martin, Corporal Tyler Elliott, USMC, Blake Brackin, Blayne Brackin and Austin Holt.
Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
