U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander Alvin J. Aaron (Retired), 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away December 05, 2011.

Born on July 03, 1928 in Monroe, Louisiana, he was raised in Lewisville, Texas, the youngest of five children of Grady and Bessie Aaron.

At 17, Alvin enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. LCDR Aaron served in the Medical Service Corps, retiring in 1968.

His loved ones remember him as a strong, resilient and giving man who never started a task without finishing it and always did it well.

Alvin graduated and later taught at Penn State Harrisburg in the 1970's.

He worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of General Services before retiring in 1986.

Alvin was a fifty-seven year Freemason of the Scottish Rite.

In retirement, he enjoyed household projects, travel, woodworking, and helping neighbors.

The love of Alvin's life was his wife: Betty, whom died in 1997.

He is survived by his son: Mark (Kareen) Aaron; daughter: Ann (Alan) Byar; grandson: Christopher Byar; sister: Jo Marie Renfroe; numerous cousins; nieces; and, nephews.

Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
