Centurion, Elenora Emma (Jahde) Briese, 100, of Albion, NE passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.

Elenora was born May 16, 1911 at Pender, NE. She was the only daughter and oldest child born to William H. Jahde and Meta Kai Jahde.

Elenora had two brothers, Alvin and Willis, who are both deceased.

Elenora was baptized at the Lutheran Church in Pender.

In 1923, when Elenora was 12, she moved with her family to Albion, NE where her father had purchased a hardware store. They came by train, this trip taking all afternoon from Wisner to Albion.

Elenora was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in 1923.

Elenora attended Albion City Schools and graduated from Albion High School in 1928. She was the last surviving member of her class.

She worked at Jahde Hardware and J. P. Graff Department Store.

February 10, 1931, Elenora united in marriage with Paul O. Briese at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage in Albion by Pastor Beckman.

To this union were born three children: two daughters, Ramona P. Briese Coakes of Albion, Mary E. Briese Weyant of Omaha and one son, Paul W. Briese, Sr. of Omaha. There are also ten surviving grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and her half sister Muriel Young.

Elenora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, and brothers Alvin and Willis Jahde.

Paul and Elenora lived four miles northwest of Albion on the Briese farmstead for more than 73 years until his passing in October 2004. Elenora remained there until August 2006 when she moved to the Good Samaritan Home in Albion.

Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery; Albion, NE.
