Jazz Musician. Born originally Paul Emil Brightenfeld in San Francisco California. He is known primarily for his work with The Dave Brubeck Quartet from 1951-67. Composer of the quartet's huge 1959 hit "Take 5" among others. He passed away on Memorial Day, leaving his vast royalties to The American Red Cross. (bio by: Bongo Pete)
