Murrell D. Thomas, 67, retired senior geologist for Kerr-McGee, died Wednesday at St. Anthony Hospital. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degree at the University of Missouri and served as a fellowship in geology at Yale University. Elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi. He was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon, and was an officer in the Okla. City Geological Society. A loving and devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Ruth; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James D. and Donna Thomas of Burlington, VT; 2 sisters, Genevieve Larson of Conway, AR and Patricia Rogers of Rector, AR. Memorial Services will be at 11am Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, directed by Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Deacon's Fund, Westminster Presbyterian Church.
