He was born to Adam and Katherina Pfeifer, May 1, 1895 in Campbell County. On March 5, 1923 he married Elizabeth Losing. They had 4 children, Ruby Virginia, who preceded him in death; Jacob Edwin of Minneapolis; Lorraine LaVerne of Mitchell and Vern Earl at home.
Survivors are his wife, 3 children, his mother, Mrs. Katherina Pfeifer of Herreid; 2 brothers, Adam of Mobridge and Edward of McLaughlin; 5 sisters, Mrs. Emma Vollmer of Walla Walla, Wash.; Mrs. Pauline Wolfer of McLaughlin; Martha Pfeifer of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Frieda Geuike of McLaughlin; and Mrs. Kay Bollinger of Herreid.
A brother and sister preceded him in death.
