Link, Margaret Josephine Louise Schafer Born April 16, 1924, Died December 6, 2007 at the age of 83. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Link; 3 sisters, Ernestine Schafer, Clarisse Maher and Louise Tobin; 2 brothers: Joseph and Robert Schafer. She is survived by her 9 children, 27 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. The children and their spouses are as follows: David and Kathleen Link, Jacquelyn and Tom Dezort, Susan and Herman Van Sickle, Michael Link, Steven and Deb Link, Mary and Robert La Rose, Elizabeth Link and Michael Joslyn, Sarah and Dave Suhrenbrock and Richard and Mary Jo Link. She is also survived by her twin sister, Marcella Pipkin and her brother, Richard Schafer as well as her sisters-in-law, Jane Schafer, Mary Margaret Link and Norma Link and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was a member of St. Michael's parish and was proud that each of her children began their education at St. Michael's School. She was an excellent cook and preferred feeding dozens to eating alone. There was always room for one more and always dessert. She was avid gardener, could pull weeds for sport, a tennis player with an inimitable style and a mother and grandmother like no other. She has style and grace and made her world the world of friends and family a better place. She and Albert are now dancing with the stars. Services: Please join her family in remembering her and celebrating her life. The memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 1 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Staunton, IL, with a gathering at Concordia Hall in Staunton to follow. Memorials are requested to St. Michael's Church or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Gateway Chapter.
