HART - D.A. Bass, 85, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Hart with Cliff Hargrove, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hart Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mr. Bass was born Jan. 9, 1918, in Shamrock. He went to school at Salt Flat School in Oklahoma. He married Nora Januice Worley on June 10, 1939, in Sayre, Okla.

He and his wife moved from Beckham County, Okla., to Sudan in February 1946, to Hart in 1953 and then to Bonham in 1977. After they retired from farming and ranching, they moved back to Hart in 1992.

Survivors include three daughters, Phillis Sharp and husband, Jim, of Lubbock, Janice Clark and husband, Ray, of Hart and Sharon Bostick of Oklahoma City; a sister, Viola Potts of Lubbock; four brothers, Harold Bass of Erick, Okla., Wayne Bass of Shamrock, Burt Bass of Borger and Dean Bass of Fritch; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church of Hart or Runningwater Draw Care Center in Olton.
