Based upon the dates of birth agreeing with Federal Census & Military Records, this information has been placed on my great great grandfather's site. Nathan Mills, son of James, was born in Indiana & the Nathan Mills on this Civil War record was born in Kentucky. Therefore, there is a question whether there were two Nathan Mills at this time. It is also interesting to note that he may have deserted because of his Quaker/Friends Church background--If this is the same Nathan Mills, son of James & Hannah Ratcliff Mills of Vermilion County, Illinois.
