Richard Michael Genelle-He was an entrepreneur and actor best known for playing Ernie on the children's series Power Rangers. From 1993 until 1997, Genelle portrayed Ernie, the good-natured owner of the Angel Grove Youth Center, the most popular hang out spot for the teens of Angel Grove. He often hosted special events, giving out free drinks and food, and helping out his customers if they needed it. After four seasons, Ernie abruptly left the Youth Center to do emergency volunteer work in South America, passing ownership of the Youth Center to Jerome Stone. In real life, Genelle left the series to take steps to overcome his smoking problems and obesity, successfully losing over forty pounds. He also started Retail Logistics Solutions, Inc. in Cerritos, California, providing transportation services. Genelle died following a heart attack on December 30, 2008. He was 47 years old.

Richard Michael Genelle age 47, resident of Corona, formerly of Riverside (Woodcrest) for 24 years, passed away 12/30/2008 at Corona Regional, due to a heart attack. Richard was born on 10/12/1961 in New York.

He was President/Owner of Retail Logistics Solutions in Cerritos, CA. Richard was a graduate of John Glen High School in Long Island, NY. He was Fantasy Football Galactic Hitmen Winner 3 our of 4 years.

Richard is survived by his wife, Rosa Isela Genelle of Corona; daughter, Sophia Rose Genelle of Corona; son, Joseph Richard Genelle of Corona; mother, Ellen T. Genelle of Riverside; nephews, Andy Genelle and Richard Barajas, both of Riverside; sister, Theresa E. Barajas of Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimers Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to: Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary (951) 689-1441
