In the early morning hours of November 30, 2011 God wrapped his loving arms around Ruth Burton and said come with me.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockport and a former resident of Rockport. Ruth was born on November 12, 1918 in Menno, South Dakota to Karl Reiser and Christina Becker Reiser. She was 93 years old. She married her husband of almost 61 years on April 6, 1945. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Ruth and Carl served as caretakers of the Fulton Cemetery for 15 years. They both loved to fish the waters of the Coastal Bend.
Ruth worked as a bookkeeper/office manager for several car dealers in the Coastal Bend area from Port Lavaca to Corpus Christi.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; Carl Burton, her devoted husband; and brothers, Herbert and Oliver Reiser.
She is survived by one son, David Carl Burton (Kay) of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Gary Wayne Burton of Corpus Christi and Melody Kay Burton Clark of Cardiff, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation wiil be held from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with Funeral services to be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Rockport with burial to follow at Fulton Cemetery.
