GALVA - Sarah "Sally" M. Ausich, 91, of Galva, died at 10:10 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Manor Care in Davenport, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 3 at the First United Methodist Church in Galva. Rev. Ann Champion will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.

She was born February 22, 1920 in Superior, WI, the daughter of Irl and Margaret (Link) Tubbs. She married Anton Ausich Jr. on March 29, 1945 in Miami, FL. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1978. Survivors include a son, Bill (Regina) Ausich of Columbus, OH, two daughters, Mary (Lowell) Doerder of Bettendorf, IA and Margaret (Evan) Nelson of LaCrosse, WI, ten grandchildren, Eric Doerder, Amanda Schiltz, Adam, Aaron and Emily Doerder, Elizabeth, Arlie and Mary Ausich and Alec and Sarah MacAdam and four great grandchildren, Isaac and Owen Schiltz, Beatrice Pook and Harper Doerder. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Sally graduated from Miami High School and then from University of Iowa. She was a teacher and had taught for one year at Burns School in the Galva Schhol District and then from 1968-83 at Orion High School. She was a 60 year resident of Galva. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, P.E.O., D.A.R., Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the Orion Retired Teachers. She enjoyed sewing and football and especially her grandchildren and following their sporting events.
