Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Buffington Funeral Home for Boyd O. Bailey, who died at 7:55 a.m. October 4, in the Audie Murphy Hospital in San Antonio.

The Rev. George Schultz, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Seguin, will officiate at the service with burial in the Leesville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be members of the VFW Post No. 4817, Carl Acker Jr., Jack Shock, Oscar Friedrich, Hilmer Stridde, Rudy Hrneirik and Robert Fisher.

Mr. Bailey, a resident of Bebe, was born May 7, 1917, the son of Ernest and Minnie Maudie Mahan Bailey. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of Gonzales VFW Post No. 4817. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army as a T-Sgt in the Signal Corp.

Survivors are brothers and sisters; Esther Richter of Rosenberg, Cecil Bailey, Hulan Bailey, both of Gonzales, Winston Bailey of Seguin, Derwood Bailey of Frost, Mable Richter, Gonzales, and Glenna Kohli of Lima, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Lester Bailey, who was killed in action in World War II in Italy, and a sister Marie Bailey.
