Mrs. Magdelena Steinwasser, wife of Mr. John Steinwasser, died at the family residence, corner Illinois and Second North Streets, at midnight on Monday, aged 61 years. Her death was very sudden and unexpected. In the fore part of the evening she had visited her sister, Mrs. Catherine Stoeltzle, at whose residence there was a gathering of friends, and where she remained until about 11 o'clock and then went to her home, when she was taken suddenly ill and died within the hour. Mr. and Mrs. Steinwasser have long been residents of Belleville and were much respected. The bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of many friends. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon from the residence to St. Peter's Church thence to Green Mount Cemetery.
