Civil War pension records show Luke Higgins received an invalid's pension (Application # 361497 & Certificate # 234882) on April 14,1880 for his service in Company "L" 6th New York Heavy Artillery (other service noted is 2nd Company 4th Battalion Veterans Reserve Corp.) . This record only gives the year of death as 1908.
