Leanna Ruth Ritter Rowan, 66, passed away July 21, 2007, in Clackamas, Oregon, from complications following a stroke.


She was born April 25, 1941, to Clyde W. Ritter and Ardith M. Durrant Ritter. She was the oldest of nine children, seven girls and two boys.


Leanna married Ralph Leroy Rowan November 6, 1957, in Ririe, Idaho. Leanna and Ralph would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. They moved to Boise in the early sixties with their three small children, Stephanie, Allyson, and Ralph Jr. After moving they had two more children, Elizabeth (Libby) and Bradley. Leanna worked at various jobs and times in her life, but was mostly a stay at home mom, raising her family. She had endured many health problems over the past several years and was a very strong and determined lady. Her family admires her for the strength that she showed in her trials.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ralph and Leanna lived in Boise approximately 40 years and had moved to Clackamas in the last year to be near her oldest daughter, Stephanie, and son, Brad. In her new home In Oregon she was the happiest she had ever been, where she could watch out her livingroom window and see all the neighbor children at play.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph;, mother, Ardith Ritter of Ririe, ID; daughters, Stephanie Ann (Chip) Day of Clackamas, OR, Allyson Ruth Porter of Meridian, ID, Elizabeth (Libby) Elaine Rowan of Nampa, ID; sons, Ralph Leroy Rowan Jr. Of Coeur d’Alene, ID, and Bradley James (Heidi) Rowan of Portland, OR; three grandchildren Justin, Annie and Brandon and three great grandchildren; siblings, James (Connie) Ritter of Benton City, WA, Bernetta (Lyle) Albertson of Roberts, ID, Brenda Berrett, Sue Hastings, Vickie (Scott) Farris, Jill (Jerry) Dursteler of Idaho Falls, Rhonda (Rob) Archer of Indianapolis, IN, and Kim (Renee) Ritter of Ririe, ID; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Ritter, two nephews, Bart Berrett and Bruce Moenkhe, a great niece, Sarah Ritter, and a brother-in-law, Gary Hastings. At Leanna’s request cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
