Norma Jean Rath, 80, of Horton, Kansas, formerly of St. Francis, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Tri-County Manor in Horton, Kansas. She was born on October 5, 1928 in Rexford, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Rosa Miller Durham. Norma worked as a restaurant cook and Nurses Aid. In 1954 she married Lloyd C. Rath in Colby, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2001. Norma was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Francis, Kansas and was an avid gardener. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra and her husband, Dale White of Horton, Kansas; two brothers, August Durham of Colby, Kansas and Charles Durham of Baudette, Minnesota; three sisters, Rosa Lee Johnson of Bloomington, Indiana, Ella Marty of Phoenix, Arizona and Elta Mae Dornberger of Leonardville, Kansas; four grandchildren, Michelle White of Horton, Kansas, Brandon White of Horton, Kansas, Joshua White of Spearfish South Dakota and Katherine White of Horton and three great grandsons. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, LeRoy Rath and a sister, Clara Jane Langely. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the St. Leo's Catholic Church in Horton, Kansas. Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday at the St. Francis, Kansas Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Horton Community Hospital or the Tri-County Manor in care of the mortuary.
