Lloyd Rath of Horton, Kan., formerly of St Francis died April 18, 2001, at Horton Community Hospital. He was born July 19, 1918, to Jake and Emma Rath in a sod house that his father had homesteaded near St Francis.

Lloyd was a farmer and later in life worked for the State Highway Department for 15 years.

He was united in marriage to Norma Durham Rath in 1954 at Colby.

Lloyd was a former member of the St Francis United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son LeRoy Rath in 1984, four sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife Norma Rath of the home, daughter Sandra and Dale White, Horton; four grandchildren, Michelle White, Horton; Brandon White, Yakotz, Japan; Joshua White, Horton; Katherine White, Horton and two great grandsons.

The funeral was held at 10 am Friday, April 20 at the Dishom-Maple-Chaney Mortuary, Horton with a graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21 at St Francis Cemetery, St Francis.

Memorials may be given to the Horton Community Hospital.
