Indian Campaigns Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Private in Company E, 7th US Infantry for action on July 9, 1876 at Big Horn, Montana. His citation reads "Carried dispathes to Gen.
