Amelia died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Reichstein in Atlantic, Iowa, due to the complications of old age. Services were held January 9 in the Reichstein home. Amelia had lived near Elliott. Six children survived her, three of whom were living in Atlantic, IA. Those three were: Mrs. Ernest Reichstein, Mrs. John Hoffman, and Louis Thiele. Son George was living in Carson City, NV; son Henry in Virginia; and daughter Mrs Amelia Miller in California.
