Birth: 1847
North Carolina, USA
Death: Mar. 26, 1909
Mount Pleasant
Henry County
Iowa, USA

Son to George washington Taylor. He might not have been the son to Anna Jane Hiatt since she married George in 1849 & he doesnt show up in any census records with his parents at all! We do have him in George Sr's last will, his obituary, as well as land deeds, but no census reports whichs makes us believe he could have been an illegit child of George born in Nc and when he married Anna Jane, perhaps they came to Iowa alone and young George stayed behind with family. I have the last known will of GWT Sr (1781) that lists that a grandson, GWT, is to receive land and that he is the son of Nathan Taylor. Later in the document, it given Nathan guardianship of this George W. Taylor. Now, this could either mean that this George was a minor and too young to accept the land or possibly, Nathan wasn't his real father, but made guardian. We are looking into the Bastardly Bonds of North Carolina (Stokes County) in hopes to find an answer to who his mother was. My gut feeling is that he was the son of George and George's second wife, Isabella Ireland. In the 1850 census, she is listed as having a son named George W. Ireland who was born about 1847....
