A true American hero! After his recovery from wounds received at Iwo Jima, Captain Hudman died in matter of hours from injuries sustained in a plane crash during Operation DeepFreeze II. This was a south pole operation which faced many hazards in supporting bases which had been previously established in Antarctica (Deep Freeze 1). Killed upon impact in the crash were other American heroes: pilot David W. Carey USN; radioman AT1 Charles S. Miller; and AD1 Marion O. Marze the plane Captain. We honor and bless your memory.
