Joe Daniel Laws, age 70, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Willie and Leora Hall, Charlie and Bella Laws; parents, Aldon Laws and Ruby Hall Shelton; brothers, Arnold Laws, James Ray Laws, and W. C. Shelton. He is survived by his children, Ruby Ann Laws, Joe D. Laws, Jr., Kelly Ray Laws, Jason R. Laws, Kitty Jane Laws, Tammy Lee Laws, Christy Laws, Becky Laws, Eva Laws, Connie Laws, Tracy Laws and Denise Laws Smith; special aunt, Edna Coggins; brothers and sisters, Cauley Laws, Ronnie Laws Wilson, Joyce Laws Wilson, Chris Bourgeois, Kathy Ogle, Milburn Shelton, Debra Shelton, Maggie Strange, Sherry Greenlee, Jeff Shelton, Anthony Shelton and Shirley Laws; special friend, Edna Louise Strange; twenty grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 4-9 pm Friday, November 25, 2011 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Milburn Shelton and Brother Wayne Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
