She was born in Robeson County, NC on October 8, 1927 to the late Ira and Vina Taylor Britt.
She previously worked as an inspector for Knitting Textile Manufacturing and farmed most of her life. She was involved with her Singletary Baptist Church family for many many years.
Along with her parents, Ira and Vina Taylor Britt; she was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis McLean; a brother, James Britt; and a sister, Eula Grace Holmes.
Mrs. McLean is survived by two sons, Stevens McLean and wife Glenda of Leland and Archie Wayne "Dick" McLean and wife Robin of Lumberton; a daughter, Barbara Overbey of Lumberton; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Stephanie, Joy, Angie, Missy, Andrew and Alley; and eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Zack, Kimberly, Brenner, Rachel, Sammi and Zoey.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Singletary Baptist Church with Rev. Mitchell Nance and Rev. Flynn Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
