He was born August 20, 1933 in Oran, Missouri to John Henry Scott and Freda Loraine Hall Scott. On July 31, 1954 in St. Ann, MO, he was united in marriage to Catherine Stoops who preceded him in death on June 27, 2009.
"Scotty" served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for thirty years at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis and retired in 1988. He attended St. Michael's Catholic Church and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 7147 of Cuba and a long time member of the Anglers of Missouri.
He helped for several years in the Boy Scouts in St. Louis and enjoyed building sets for his daughter, Deborah while she was in dance. "Scotty" also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Deborah Loraine Tucker and husband James of Castle Rock, CO; two grand-daughters Katie Barrows and husband Matt of Broomfield, CO and Kristy Compiseno of Steelville, MO; three great-grandchildren Jonathan, Lilly and Emily Freeman all of Steelville, MO; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Catherine; an infant son; and infant daughter; and two brothers Richard Joseph Scott and William Michael Scott.
The Family received friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO. Funeral rites were conducted by the V.F.W. Cuba Post 7147 at 7:00 p.m..
Graveside services with full military honors were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
