John R. Anderson, 53, of 2106 Canton St., died at 6 a.m. Monday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn., of natural causes.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Chapel CME Church, with the Rev. Wesley Lowe officiating and burial in Cave Spring Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Gamble Funeral Home.

A native of Hopkinsville, he was born March 10, 1941, son of the late Solomon Anderson Sr. and his wife, the late Birdie Anderson. he was a barber, having owned Anderson's Hair Care Center, and a member of Freeman Chapel CME Church, where he was in the choir.

In addition, Anderson was a former member of Pioneers Inc. and a member of Golden Saints Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Taylor and Jo Anne Goods, both of Hopkinsville; a brother, Solomon Anderson Jr., Murray; a sister, Margaret Dulaney, Hopkinsville; and three grandchildren.
