MARY J. McKAIN services Monday.
Mary J. McKain, 75, of Seymour R4 died at 5:25 p.m. Thursday, (19 February), at Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital. She was seriously ill two weeks.
Mrs. McKain was a member of Central Christian Church is Seymour. She was formerly employed at the Seymour Daily Tribune for 16 years and formerly owned and operated Mary's Antique Shop at her home on Seymour R4.
She was a member of Eastern Star in Seymour, where she was past worthy matron.
Born, Nov. 20, 1911, in Boone County, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Robert Fitzsimmon. She moved to Jackson County in 1930. She married Ralph O. McKain in Lebanon on Oct. 31, 1930. He died on Jan. 8, 1982.
Mrs. McKain is survived by a son, Jack D. McKain of Seymour R4; a grandson, Steve McKain of Seymour R4; four step grandchildren, Thomas J. Hilderbrand with the U. S. Army in Africa, Tony R. Hildebrand of Seymour, David L. Hildebrand of Muncie and Mrs. Michael (Diane) Bevers of Marquette, Mich; and a step-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
The Rev. Josef Palat will conduct the service at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel in Seymour. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Mother was Amelia Griffey
She was raised by John Asbury Sunderland and Martha Wink Sunderland. The Sunderland name was used as her maiden name on marriage license and census reports.
