Kelly Dee Hjelm, 20, of Idaho Falls died July 11, 2005.

He was born Sept. 19, 1984, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Bradley Gerald Hjelm and Renetia Ann Hayes Hjelm, the youngest of five children. The family moved to Shelley in 1985 and then to Iona and in1986, they moved to Idaho Falls. He attended Iona Elementary, Rocky Mountain Middle School, Hobbs Middle School in Shelley, and in Idaho Falls, Clair E. Gale and Eagle Rock Jr. High schools.

Kelly worked in the construction business and loved getting his hands greasy doing mechanical work.

He enjoyed drawing, hunting, camping, fishing, bike riding, and 4-diggin.

Kelly was a very warm, caring person, who loved to make everyone smile, help others, and spend time with his mother, sister, nieces and nephews, and his friends.

He is survived by the following: mother and step-father, Renetia and Craig Nielsen of Idaho Falls; sister, Natasha (Jeremy) Dial of Idaho Falls; half-brothers, Aaron (Karen) Johnson of Idaho Falls and Jason Hjelm of Nampa half-sister, Mischelle Walker of Idaho Falls; step-sister, Crystal Lewis of Twin Falls; step-brothers: Michael Nielsen of Ogden, Utah; Jedidiah Nielsen of Buhl and Erik Nielsen of Filer; grandmother, Helen Hayes of Ririe; and step-grandparents, Bob abd Myrna Nielsen of Lava Hot Springs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Brad Hjelm, maternal grandfather, Reed Hayes, and paternal grandparents, George and Vera Hjelm.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls with Bishop Mark McKay officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the mortuary and on Saturday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
