Fred A. Cartwright, 42, co-owner of Carmen's Drive In at 2501 S. Madison St., died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday in Ball Hospital. Funeral services will be held at the Industry EUB Church Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. L.G.D. Wertz and the Rev. Forest A. Reed in charge. Friends may call at the Meeks Mortuary after noon Sunday or until noon on Monday, and at the church an hour before the services.
Mr. Cartwright, who had been ill for six months, resided at 2216 S. Hackley St. He was one of the Class of 1927 at Muncie Central High School, and attended Ball State Teachers College. He was a member of the national and state restaurant associations, was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Industry EUB Church. He was a candidate for 1st district councilman in 1951.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Love; two sons, William and Stephen; his mother, Mrs. Cartwright; a brother, Harry; and two sisters, Mrs. Orille McClurg and Mrs. Paul Hopper, all of Muncie.
