MARION - Edward H. Byars, 73 years old, dean of Marion cotton buyers, died in a Florence hospital this afternoon from the effects of an operation which he underwent three weeks ago.
Funeral services will be held here tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Byars is survived by his wife; two sons, Luther P. Byars of Marion and Edward H. Byars of Lincolnton, N.C.; one daughter, Mrs. J. J. Cozart of Abingdon, Va.; and several grandchildren.
