David Waddell Bishop, 75, of Roebuck, SC, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

He was born August 15, 1936, in Roebuck, to Alonzo and Dorothy (Waddell) Bishop.

David graduated from Roebuck High School Class of 1955. He was a member of Roebuck Baptist Church, a former deacon, a member of the Adults Unlimited Sunday School Class, Calhoun Masonic Lodge #81, and Roebuck Improvement Association. He retired from Mettler Toledo.

Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Linda (Simmons) Bishop; sisters, Rachel B. Hembree and husband Joe of Roebuck and Shirley B. Gault of Spartanburg; sister-in-law, Janet S. Alverson of New Smyrna Beach, FL; special cousins, Brenda Hayes and husband Ted of Woodruff, SC and Tim Waddell and wife Janice of Fort Mill, SC; special friend, Kelly Steinman of Landrum, SC; two lifelong friends, Michael Thompson and wife Peggy and Wendell Lee and wife Nancy; one niece; and five nephews.

Visitation was 12:00 noon - 1:30 PM Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services followed at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tim Williams and the Rev. Ondra Black.

Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Flowers were accepted or memorials could be made to Roebuck Baptist Church Capital Revitalization Fund, Roebuck, SC.
