Lydia Schwartz Succumbs

Funeral services were held, Saturday, for Mrs. Lydia Schwartz, 83, of Route 1, a 48 year resident who died at her home the morning of March 15.

Mrs. Schwartz, born in Kansas on September 17, 1882, moved to the Monroe area in 1918. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Monroe.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Jake (Ella) Flickinger of Burrton, Kansas, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Gerber of Rt. 2 Monroe, Mrs. Alvin (Mildred) Clark of Seattle, Mrs. Harry (Irma) Albrecht of Banks, Oregon, and Mrs. Robert (Leora) Hanson of Seattle.

She is also survived by three sons, Emil of Mendota, California, Alfred of Paso Robles, California, and Clarence of Monroe; three brothers, Rudolph of Parina, Idaho, John Zerger of Kingman, Kansas, and Pete Zerger of Rt. 1, Monroe; one sister, Amelia Geortz of Seattle, 35 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren.

Services in the chapel of Purdy & Kerr Funeral Home were followed with burial in the Monroe IOOF Cemetery.

Officiating was the Rev. George Kopper.

Casketbearers were Roy Schwartz, Leroy Schwartz, Leo Clark, Robert Hansen Jr., James Stucky and Roland Bahnmiller.
