Sylvester Clark served in the Union Army. He was enlisted into the 7th Light Artillery Battery of Indiana on 24 Dec 1863 and mustered out at Indianapolis, IN on 20 July 1865. After the Civil War, Sylvester moved his family to the southeastern corner of Jasper Co, MO. He was there only a short time because he died in 1872. Whether he died in the edge of Benton Co or near Elm Springs in Washington County is unknown at this time.
