Pfc. Leslie Isenberg

Funeral services for Pfc. Leslie Isenberg, who was killed in Belgium, January 8, 1945, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Buffalow Ridge Baptist Church The Rev. A. M. Laughrun will be assisted by the Rev. W. J. Willis, pastor, in the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Isenberg, in the Gray Station section, from Thursday until the funeral date. Military rites will be accorded by the Kingsport VFW. Inducted in June, 1943, he received basic training at Camp Barkley, Tex., and later served with Barnes General Hospital in Vancouver, Wash. He landed in England after assignment to overseas duty in February, 1944. He was 28 at the time of his death. He attended school at Gray and Boones Creek and was employed at Tennessee Eastman Corporation before his induction. He was married to Mrs. Pearl Matthews. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isenberg, and three brothers, Karl, Nicholas and David C. Isenberg, also survive. The body was to arrive Thursday at Jonesboro with Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. (The Kingsport Times, Kingsport, TN, Thursday, March 24, 1949, p. 16, Col. 1)
